About Game Paint Lab

My son has a 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo as a project car. One night he showed me the color he built for it in Forza Horizon and said he wanted to paint the real car to match.

I thought that would be easy. It wasn't.

I couldn't find a straightforward converter that gave me the formats a vinyl shop or paint supplier could actually use. So I built one.

I'm a technical project manager by trade, not a professional coder. I built this with the tools available to me, including AI. The same way every builder uses the best tools they have.

Note: Forza's in-game renderer applies lighting and reflections that can make colors appear brighter or more saturated than the flat color values suggest. The converter is mathematically accurate but cannot account for in-game rendering.

Where the Forza color data comes from

The in-game color database builds on Mitcho2001's GTPlanet Colour Creation Database and the work of everyone who contributed to that thread over the years. This project wouldn't exist without that effort, and I hope this does it justice. If you've got a color to add or a correction to make, you can submit it here.
